Beyond the realms of death
In darkness and despair
Formless tides calls my name
Bringing forth a living fear
Soulless, nameless, lives decay
Ripped free from mortal men
Crumbled shells turn to dust
A nightmare without end
Lost souls of the tainted blood
Ascending from the great abyss
Incantations of the old gods
Bringing forth the nameless
It lives
It breathes
Beyond the words of men
In forbidden spells
Through pages, twisted tongues
The path to horror dwells
In a language unknown
From a forgotten tome
Where the old shadows fall
And lost demons call
From a time lost to lore
Though a forbidden door
Comes the beast from afar
Face your death from the stars
Words seemed to writhe like flames in the air
Transcending time, breaking free from its lair
Our fears come to life, we've tread a step too far
The beast from beyond; our deaths from the stars
It lives
It breathes
It comes
It feeds
Beyond infinity, a terrible decree
Past primordial gates

The Haunter of the Dark
07:57
|

I struggle in the dark
Arising, impending night
The horizon fades, and
Shadows engulf the light
My eyes are fixed
On that horrid tower
The haunter watches me
Will the be my final hour?
On this eve it has been seen
Through twisted veins of light
Wanderlust invades my dreams
It’s coming for me tonight
Hiding in this room,
Respite in the candle’s glow
Still reeling from the dreams
Of the horrors only I know
The black mist that looks through me
Is still there when I shut my eyes
My pulse is racing, fear is raging
Each breath, a final sigh
On this eve it has been seen
Through twisted veins of light
Living shadows invade my dreams
It’s coming for me tonight
Celestial wisdom I now hold
I know the truth
Gazing to the western skies
I know the truth
Silhouette of fear
I know the truth
Shadows tear through the night
The storm is drawing near
Tonight
I have whirled with the earth at the dawning,
When the sky was a vaporous flame;
I have seen the dark universe yawning
Where the black planets roll without aim,
Where they roll in their horror unheeded,
Without knowledge or lustre or name.
I had drifted o’er seas without ending,
Under sinister grey-clouded skies,
That the many-forked lightning is rending,
That resound with hysterical cries….
-H.P. Lovecraft
Grant the lightning strength
For only it can save me
I see things unknown before
Things that cannot be
I feel the tower reaching to me
Light is dark and dark is light
Raging hell-wind, I’m helpless
I give myself up to the night
On this eve it has been seen
Through twisted veins of light
The haunter that invades my dreams
Is coming for me tonight

In ancient legend dwell the tales
In whispered secrets new details
Blur the myths, reveal the truths
Three men obsessed with this pursuit
The shade released to timeless skies
Existence proven, still denied
Cast the nightmares to the depths
In hopes to lay all fears to rest
Long since past, fell o’er the strake
Still through the restless nights, awake
Visions of abysmal sights
While shadows die in glaring lights
Dredge the depths of the darkest seas
Revealing sights that no man sees
Gaze into the depths unknown
Through angles of the cursèd stone
Abysmal aeons fill my sight
As the lightning tears the night
{And at the last from inner Egypt came
[The strange dark One to whom the fellahs bowed;]
Silent and lean and cryptically proud,
[And] wrapped in fabrics red as sunset flame.
Throngs pressed around, frantic for his commands,
[But leaving, could not tell what they had heard;]
While through the nations spread the awestruck word
[That/While] wild beasts followed him and licked his hands.}
-HP Lovecraft, "Nemesis"
Titan mountains, eldritch fears
Timeless visions all too near
In darkness the gateways yawn
Unleash nightmares from beyond
{Soon from the sea a noxious birth began;
Forgotten lands with weedy spires of gold;
The ground was cleft, and mad auroras rolled
Down on the quaking citadels of man.
Then, crushing what he chanced to mould in play,
The idiot Chaos blew Earth’s dust away.
I have haunted the tombs of the ages,
I have flown on the pinions of fear
Where the smoke-belching Erebus rages,
Where the jokulls loom snow-clad and drear:
[And in realms where the sun of the desert consumes what it never can cheer.]
I was old when the Pharaohs first mounted
The jewel-deck’d throne by the Nile;
I was old in those epochs uncounted
When I, and I only, was vile;
[And Man, yet untainted and happy, dwelt in bliss on the far Arctic isle.]
Oh, great was the sin of my spirit,
And great is the reach of its doom;
Not the pity of Heaven can cheer it,
Nor can respite be found in the tomb:
[Down the infinite aeons come beating the wings of unmerciful gloom.]}
-HP Lovecraft, "Nemesis"
The truth revealed, the darkness looms
Save for the man who holds our doom
Helpless to his ageless scorn
The evil lives in human form
Dredge the depths of the darkest seas
Revealing sights that no man sees
The shadows cast by baleful spire
Now ablaze in solar fire
Gaze into the depths unknown
Through angles of the cursèd stone
Abysmal aeons fill my sight
As the lightning tears the night
Titan mountains, eldritch fears
Timeless visions all too near
In darkness the gateways yawn
Unleash nightmares from beyond
